Getting to Koh Phi Phi
Phi Phi Island lies between Phuket and Krabi, both of which have international airports. There are direct flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and during the high season, from some European countries as well as Australia. From Bangkok, Thai Air operates 10 to 12 flights a day between Bangkok and Phuket and about 5 flights per day from Bangkok to Krabi. Budget airline AirAsia operates about 4 flights a day to Phuket and about 3 flights a day to Krabi
From Phuket to Koh Phi Phi
Morning ferries leave at 8:30 am and the afternoon ferries leave at 1:30 pm and 14:30; all from Rasada Pier in Phuket town. All of these ferries arrive into the main pier in Tonsai Bay, Phi Phi Island with the journey taking about 1 hour 45 mins. Ferry tickets are approx 300 - 350 baht, and a taxi from the airport to the pier is 500 baht per taxi or 50 baht per person on the mini bus.
From Krabi to to Koh Phi Phi
All ferries to Phi Phi Island leave from the new pier in Nam Luk. The journey to Phi Phi Island takes approximately 90 minutes. A taxi from Krabi airport to the ferry pier is about 400 Baht (10 US$) whilst a mini bus is about 100 baht (3 US$) per person. The ferry ticket to Phi Phi Island is about 300 to 350 Baht. The morning ferries depart from at 9.30 am and 11 am, whilst the afternoon ferries leave at 3 pm.
Getting to Lanta Island
Ko Lanta is easy and inexpensive to reach from Phuket, Bangkok or Malaysia . The island is serviced by passenger ferries from both Krabi & Phi Phi and car ferries from the mainland. Krabi is the most convenient gateway to Ko Lanta if coming from Bangkok, and if arriving from Phuket passage is via either Phi Phi or Krabi. Trang also serves as a regional transit point for those coming in from the south. Please bear in mind that if your arrival time is late in the day, the local minibus or public passenger ferries scheduled for Ko Lanta may not always be available.
From Krabi to Koh Lanta
Ferries run twice daily from November through April (dates can vary with weather). Public aircon minivans operate year-round several times per day. The number of trips per day varies with the seasons, with the first leaving at around 11am and the last at around 3pm. The trip takes around 2.5 hours and includes two car ferry crossings. Cost is 200 Baht per person and it leaves from Thana Tours opposite City Hotel, Krabi.
From Trang to Koh Lanta
Public aircon minivans operate year-round several times per day. The number of trips per day varies with the seasons, with the first leaving at around 11am and the last at around 3pm. The trip takes around 2.5 hours, costs 200 Baht per person and leaves from KK Tours opposite Trang Train Station.
From Phuket to Koh Lanta via Koh Phi Phi
Ferries run daily all year from Phuket to Koh Lanta via PhiPhi. The ferry takes 2 hours from Phuket to Koh Phi Phi and another 1 hour from Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lanta. Note that the connecting and changing ferry will take one and half hour but only the 8:00 am ferry from Phuket can get through on Koh Lanta in the same day.
