Koh Phi Phi Don - Tonsai Village

The only inhabited island in Phi Phi is Koh Phi Phi Don, and although camping trips are possible to Ao Maya (Koh Phi Phi Lei) and Mosquito Island it is the only island where there is permenant accomodation. Most of the activity is centered around the small village where the ferries from Koh Lanta, Koh Phuket and Krabi arrive. Situated on a sandy isitmus only 500 meters wide at its widest point you are never further than 5 minutes from one of two long white beaches, but also have a large selection of restaurants, bars and shops close to hand.

Koh Phi Phi Don - Other Beaches

For those who wish for a little more tranquility there are several beaches elsewhere on Koh Phi Phi Don, between a 10 minute and 2 hour longtail boat journey from the ferry pier. Accomadation ranges from super luxerious resorts with private beaches through to ecelectic huts on the more backpacker friendly beaches. None, except Had Yao, ever get particually busy.
